Thaksin to visit flooded Chiang Rai, first trip since daughter became PM

In his first trip there since his daughter’s approval as prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra may assess flooding in Chiang Rai on Tuesday.

After arriving at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters, where he is officially having breakfast with Prime Minister Paetongtarn, Thaksin confirmed on Monday his journey to the northern territory. ” I will be visiting people”, he said when asked about the planned getaway.

According to Matichon online, his one-day explore includes a trip to Theung area to offer them comfort sacks and meet with local community leaders.
