Singapore kitefoiler Maximilian Maeder’s Olympic final postponed after one race contested

After the men’s final was postponed on Thursday ( Aug 8 ), Singapore’s world champion kitefoiler Maximilian Maeder will have to wait more in his bid for an Olympic medal.

The 17-year-old had finished second in the day’s first and only competition, out of a conceivable six. The&nbsp, remaining tribes were put off due to lack of weather.

Valentin Bontus, from Austria, won the race, Riccardo Pianosi from Italy, came in third, and Toni Vodisek, from the general standings, came in third.

Maeder had already qualified for the ultimate after placing second overall in the first line.

In the final, companies need three contest gets to secure metal.

But, Vodisek, who topped the starting line, had the advantage of beginning the final with two competition gets and only needed one more to get gold.

Maeder started the last with one race succeed and needed two more successes to acquire gold, while Bontus and Pianosi, as winning semi-finalists, needed three competition wins each.
