Commentary: No university classes on Wednesday afternoons? Thanks, but no thanks

JEOPARDY POSTING UNIVERSITY Mobility

Nevertheless, shorter school days are incompatible with the school system’s freedom. It restricts students ‘ freedom to organize their schedule, which paradoxically adds even more stress to their lives by giving them more time to engage in recreational activities.

From primary to pre-university rates, scheduling is a job that falls on the shoulders of instructors. But this is not the situation in institutions. Individuals can choose the courses they take each quarter and submit bids for video slots, which will allow them to customize their schedules to their liking, even though seminars have fixed times.

Each student’s excellent schedule has its own unique concept. Some of my RI friends incorporated space Wednesdays into their NUS routines because they liked them so much. Another friend enjoys scheduling her medical consultations on Mondays and Fridays.

A student might want to keep their free day, but three hours of possible lesson time will be squandering that day, making them reluctant to take the day off.

Moreover, students have a certain amount of training requirements to accomplish, ranging from major-specific courses to public education or multidisciplinary core courses.

However, with a secured day block in location, clashes in presentation and guide timing are more likely to occur. My friends and I had similar experiences when we were preparing for our future year’s schedules and had to give up three classes due to conflict between the lectures and tutorials. Students are therefore less able to tailor their academic journey.
