Myanmar armed group says captured regional military command

From the Himalayan hills in the northwest to the sprawling southern terminal region that borders the Indian Ocean, Myanmar’s government has 14 regional orders spread throughout the nation.

At least ten of the soldiers in those groups are now fighting the military’s established ethnic minority organizations or the newer” People’s Army Forces” that have emerged since its revolution in 2021.

The government may lose a regional command for the first time since the issue, which broke out more than three years ago, with the capture of the Lashio post.

An ally of racial minority armed organizations, including the MNDAA, which was launched late last year, has yet to be fully reclaimed by the military in northern Shan state.

That rude saw the MNDAA capture the city of Laukkai near the China frontier after around 2, 000 junta forces surrendered, in one of the government’s biggest individual loses in years.

According to the coup and nearby save organizations, scores of civilians have been killed or injured in the most recent fighting in Shan state.

Figures showing the junta’s and cultural alliance’s individual casualties have not been made public.

Myriad ethnic armed groups have fought for freedom and control of rewarding resources in Myanmar’s borderlands since 1948 when it gained independence from Britain.
