An American pastor who led a 121-person mass at which 121 people were killed has claimed he was “deeply disturbed” by the drama but that no one could shift destiny.

Bhole Baba’s comments to local journalists weeks after the crush in Hathras district in Uttar Pradesh state have caused outrage in India.

” Who can change the inevitable? Anyone who enters this earth has to keep in a single day. Just the moment is uncertain”, he said.

At a Hindu religious meeting known as satsang, the lover occurred in early July. The patients were mostly women, not men.

Some of the event’s organizers have been taken into custody by the officers, including a person they claim is a crucial secretary to the priest. But Bhole Baba, a self-styled godman, has not been named in the police event or questioned however.

He has not been held accountable in a statement that a specific research team sent to the Uttar Pradesh government has prepared that alleges the occasion organisers were at fault and cites neglect by the police and local administration.

Officials said they had given permission for 80, 000 people to gather but around 250, 000 citizens attended the event. According to the police report, the love occurred when panic broke out after a crowd of people rushed to collect dust that Bhole Baba had touched as he was leaving.

The priest, however, refuted this and repeated unsubstantiated claims made by his solicitor that a “poison gas had been sprayed at the meeting” and that there was a” plot to damage” his standing while speaking to reporters on Wednesday.

The preacher’s lawyer had told the BBC earlier that allegations about his client being responsible for the tragedy were “false” and that the crush occurred “due to some anti-social elements”.

However, the preacher’s families have pleaded for his arrest and placed the blame on the victims ‘ families.

Some users of social media have also voiced out their frustration over his subsequent remarks, with some calling for his imprisonment.

” Bhole Baba might be right in a way, but who caused the death]s ]”, one user asked on X ( formerly Twitter ).

Another person argued that the police had n’t questioned the expert about the incident or had filed a case against him.

” 100 % scot-free. Will possibly perform another satsang quickly”, another consumer said.

Suraj Pal was Bhole Baba’s unique name, but he apparently renamed himself Narayan Sakar Vishwa Hari.

Although his career is unknown, it is believed that he was a former police officer in Uttar Pradesh who later changed his profession to become a religious preacher.

In Hathras and the surrounding towns, he has amassed hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts. However, following the love, his life and property have been scrutinized.
