Five killed when train hits pickup on crossing

A northbound train struck a pickup truck at a railroad crossing in the Muang area on Monday evening, killing five people and seriously injuring two others.

Around 6 o’clock in the Muang district’s tambon Pak Thang, the accident took place in the town of Moo 1 at 6 o’clock.

Police said customer coach 201 from Bangkok to Phitsanulok approached the cross, which had no protection restrictions, about 6pm.

A four-door delivery truck with Phitchit plates scurried across the lines and the train’s way. The coach vehicle was unable to slow down or stop in time to prevent hitting the car.

The delivery was veered off to the area about 30 meters after the crash’s pressure caused it. All of the passengers on the pick were thrown out of the car. Two more people died after at Phichit Hospital after the death of three girls who were instantly deceased. Two people were seriously damaged.

Police authorities said truck drivers Pratya Khongthat, 40, was taking family, women and a woman, to a death at Wat Ratchangkhwan in tambon Pak Thang, about one kilometre from the accident scene.

Those killed were four girls and a 14-year-old child. The pilot survived. &nbsp,
