Before the Election Commission approves the 200 new legislators, Senate Speaker Pornpetch Wichitcholchai stated that the Senate must carry out its responsibilities.
His comment came as senators-elect, who will be addressing the people in case of budget issues, and political pundits and senators-elect, inquired why the cheerful senators, whose terms will disappear as soon as the EC will approve the winners of the Senate vote, are reviewing the budget proposal.
According to Mr. Pornpetch, the issue will remain in the hands of the retiring lawmakers, as they must do so until the fresh Upper House is sworn in by law. The name of the retiring legislators ran out on May 10.
