Pro-cannabis organizations have pledged to stage a protest outside Government House on Monday against the government’s plan to re-list the flower as a opiate.
The action comes in response to the commission overseeing illegal drugs ‘ decision to support the classification of cannabis and cannabis as narcotics.
Based on the agency’s quality, hemp and hemp are to be regarded as opioid species except for their trees, foliage, roots and seeds. Cannabis buds and any other substances that contain more than 0.2 % tetrahydrocannabinol ( THC ) will also be categorized as narcotics. If the Office of the Narcotics Control Board approves the relisting, which is scheduled to go into effect on January 1st of next year, the board voted by the bulk to support it.
Prasitchai: No open attention
The Writing Thai Cannabis’Future pro-cannabis group’s secretary-general, Prasitchai Nunual, stated that cannabis activists may hold a rally monday outside Government House to protest the walk.
He said the council’s decision is never based on the public’s attention and could be an administrative crime. He threatened to file criminal and civil claims against the council and public health secretary Somsak Thepsutin.
The committee member who voted against the listing, Panthep Puapongpan, wrote on Facebook that if the plant is relisted, the narcotics code wo n’t be effective in resolving the marijuana-related issues. ” The answer is to move specific legislation. He claimed that the only way to strictly enforce rules governing how to use and not to use cannabis is to protect those who do n’t.
Anutin Charnvirakul, the head of the Bhumjaithai Party, warned the Public Health Ministry on Saturday  to make for some challenging questions following the relisting of cannabis.
The council that approved decriminalizing the flower is the same as the one that agreed to decriminalise it, according to Mr. Anutin, so the board owes the people an explanation.
” We’ve made the laws more permissible,” he said. What may occur if people cultivate cannabis? Did they face legal action? What about the 8, 000 marijuana-related criminals who were freed in June 2022? he said.
