Court event may prevent Charn from performing his duties.

A highly regarded source in the Interior Ministry has informed Charn Phuangphet that he will be fired from office as soon as he takes office, having recently won the provincial administrative organization ( PAO ) chairman election in Pathum Thani.
Pathum Thani municipal officials have informed the Department of Local Administration, which supervises local administrative bodies global, of the step to be taken, said the source.
In spite of widespread skepticism from Mr. Charn, a candidate for the Pheu Thai Party, who won the election for PAO president on June 30 despite the fact that he is facing a misconduct trial in connection with his previous appointment as PAO chairman more than ten years ago,
The National Anti-Corruption Commission ( NACC ) concluded in 2012 that there were grounds to believe that Mr. Charn had knowingly squandered funds in order to pay for the PAO’s purchase of aid during the 2011 floods.
The Region 1 Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct cases was therefore informed by the NACC, which afterwards in the same year suspended Mr. Charn from his job.
In light of concerns about whether he should be subject to a suspension, a new court order, or the Department of Local Administration’s authority to punish him, the second court reading in this case is scheduled for later this month.
The provincial government’s local administrative bodies are under the control of the government of Pathum Thani, who will adhere to the CoS’s recommendations. Secretary-general of the CoS Pakorn Nilprapunt likewise confirmed this week that a new judge order to halt Mr. Charn from work is not necessary because the Department of Local Administration currently has the authority to dismiss him from work.
