1 dead, 21 ‘unaccounted for’ in South Korea battery plant fire

Authorities reported that one person has been confirmed dead and 21 others are still unaccounted for in a major fire that broke out at a South Korean lithium battery factory on Monday ( Jun 24 ).

The lithium power plant is owned by Aricell, a North Korean key device manufacturer. It is located in Hwaseong, just south of the capital Seoul.

” We are still unable to enter the building and conduct a rescue activity. Once the fire is under control, fire Kim Jin-young told the media,” We will bring it out.”

Twenty-one employees are currently unaccounted for. We intend to use the company’s contacts to track their locations, Kim added.

One person was killed, and another had sustained major fires, he added.
