Bhutan king granted 7 honorary Thai degrees

In a meeting held on Wednesday at the Dungkar Dzong Royal Palace in the city of Paro, north of the Bhutan money, honourable doctorates were presented to His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan.

His Majesty the King was given an honorary degree by Thammasat University in the field of creative growth.

An honorable degree in crops was awarded to His Majesty the King by Chiang Mai University.

His Majesty the King received an honorary degree in Buddhism from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University.

His Majesty the King received an honorary doctorate in pure crops administration from Maejo University.

His Majesty the King was given an honorary degree in Science for Sustainable Local Development by Chiang Mai Rajabhat University.

His Majesty the King received an honorary degree in social sciences from Mae Fah Luang University.

An honorable degree of knowledge in agricultural expansion studies was awarded to His Majesty the King by Khon Kaen University.

Representatives from the institutions traveled to the South Asian nation to provide the degrees.

His Majesty thanked the Bhutanese government for their “meaningful movement of reputation,” as well as the Thai people and country for their sincere friendship and kindness.
