HANOI: The party chief of Vietnam’s capital city Hanoi, Dinh Tien Dung, has resigned, the government said on Wednesday ( Jun 19 ), marking the latest top official to exit as the ruling Communist Party carries out a major reshuffle.
Dung, 63, a former finance minister, was found by the group to be responsible for violations committed at the fund department during the 2016 to 2021 time, the authorities said in a statement.
Dung is a member of the Politburo, the most effective choice- making figure in the East Asian region.
In the midst of a significant authority change and an intensified anti-graft assault, it was unclear whether Dung would step down from the Politburo. Six of its members have left since overdue 2022.
In a statement released by the government, it was claimed that some government officials broke gathering rules while the ministry of finance handled the issuance and trading of some corporate bonds.
The ministry’s conduct and inadvertent behavior for the phrase 2016 to 2021 have had serious and irreparable effects, causing significant loss to the position resources and hurting bond investors, according to the statement.
According to the authorities, Dung was given permission to move down by the Politburo.
