Social Development and Human Security Minister Varawut Silpa-archa on Sunday pledged to increase air traveling accessibility for disabled people.
During a journey from Bangkok to Roi Et, the secretary used a scooter himself to see how service were provided to handicapped people and how hard flying and travelling inside flights is for them.
He even met people with disabilities at the airport to discover ideas about how to make air travel more available to disabled people.
Their recommendations included support for chair people in airport terminals and on flights, and service improvements.
Mr Varawut said he understood hurdles impaired people faced when flying as well as concerns with regard to aircraft health held by flights and airlines.
He hoped the government had get middle floor that may improve accessibility and guarantee safety.
” I’ve learned a lot of things immediately. We’ll work to address the issues faced by handicapped people and make sure they do not spot an additional burden on flights and flights,” he said.
Mr Varawut said he had assigned Anukul Peedkaew, the agency’s lasting director, and Kantapong Rangsesawang, director-general of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, to gather ideas as the government works to make air travel more available for disabled people.
The minister likewise encouraged other people to know the restrictions faced by disabled passengers.
