North Korea preparing to launch military satellite, South says

The South Korean military announced on Friday ( May 24 ) that it had detected signs of potential preparations for a satellite launch in the North’s effort to put a second military reconnaissance craft in orbit.

A North Korean military official said that South Korea and US intelligence agencies are closely monitoring North Korea’s actions.

The standard said without going into further detail that the activities were spotted at Dongchang- index, a northern region of the nation where North Korea’s key space flight center is located.

Kim Jong Un claimed that the leader of North Korea reviewed photographs taken of the White House and the Pentagon, among different locations, after the launch of its first spy satellite next year. State press have not released any pictures taken by the ship, yet.

Seoul suspended a portion of a military deal it signed with Pyongyang in 2018 after the release was met with restrictions from the US and its supporters.
