Pichit Chuenban, the prime minister’s office minister, resigned on Monday in response to mounting demands from legislators asking for a constitutional court decision regarding his eligibility to serve as a member of the cabinet.

In the most recent cabinet reshuffle, Mr. Pichit was elevated from the placement of Srettha Thavisin’s director.

A trustworthy resource at Government House claims that he submitted his resignation on Tuesday.

40 senators have filed a lawsuit against the prime minister’s nomination of Mr. Pichit to the government, which violated the senate’s code of ethics.

They have requested that the Constitutional Court decide on both his position and the prime minister’s decision. &nbsp, &nbsp,

The lawmakers ‘ ethics complaint may be considered for a hearing on Thursday. &nbsp,

Prior to that, Mr. Pichit was an advisor to Mr. Srettha. But long before that, he was Thaksin Shinawatra’s attorney in the cash-for-delivery controversy and was sentenced to prison for trying to bribe the Supreme Court. Due to this, people have inquired as to whether he was qualified to serve as a government minister.

After they attempted to pay Supreme Court officers by handing them a snack with a paper case containing 2 million ringgit in dollars a month earlier, the Supreme Court sentenced Pichit and two of his colleagues to six months in prison on June 25, 2008.

In the Ratchadaphisek property circumstance, for which Thaksin received a two-year prison sentence in 2008, all three of Thaksin and his ex-wife Khunying Potjaman na Pombejra were represented by Thaksin and his ex-wife.
