After a lion cub was spotted roaming around a group in the Bang Pakong city, an animal land operator in Chachoengsao was accused of owning an endangered bird.
Atthapol Charoenchansa, producer- standard of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation, ordered the DNP’s Yiew Dong work force and 1362 specific task force to investigate the case.
The suspect, who was arrested, was identified as Mr Yothin ( surname withheld ), owner of an animal farm in the province’s Bang Khla district.
Task force officials said Mr. Atthapol reported that a suspect’s tiger cub was roaming the neighborhood, not a liger baby as had formerly been claimed.
In addition, they found a lion cub aged between two to three months at the suspect’s land, he said, adding it was brought from another plantation in Nakhon Pathom without informing the authorities.
A female lion baby between the ages of five and six months old was discovered on Thursday in a residential area of Chachoengsao’s Bang Pakong district. After being captured, the baby was taken to Bang Pakong police place.
For a video shoot, Mr. Yothin immediately claimed to be the owner of a liger baby whose figure had been painted to resemble a lion cub. Nevertheless, he admitted on Saturday , that it was actually a lion baby.
The suspect is accused of releasing a protected wild creature, as well as of possessing a protected wild dog and a controlled wild creature. He faces up to five years in jail and a fine of up to 500, 000 rmb, Mr Atthapol said.
The plantation owner in Nakhon Pathom has also been accused of transferring a bear cub without permission, he claimed. He claimed that the Bueng Chawak Wildlife Development Centre in Suphan Buri has received the cat baby.
