Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin on Tuesday said a more related Asean is key to unlocking the state’s full potential and enhancing its social profitability.

The prime minister made the statement during a virtual conference for Asean Future Forum 2024  under the style” Toward Fast and Green Growth of a People-Centered Asean Community”.

” We must redouble our efforts in developing smooth connection for trade and investment, as well as online, supply chain, and power structures. This will allow Asean to position itself as a vital financial hotspot for the Indo-Pacific place,” he said.

Mr Srettha said a green Asean is necessary for long-term socioeconomic development and a better quality of life for the country’s citizens.

” Asean may continue to strive towards a natural economy, energy shift, as well as carbon independence,” Mr Srettha said.

” In our capacity as the Asean consultant on sustainable development assistance, Thailand will continue to foster teamwork towards that end. “

The primary minister said that a united and tenacious Asean remains critical for the area in navigating political and geoeconomic difficulties and tackling regional and global issues.

” Just through upholding unity and demonstrating Asean importance can we keep its importance in the fast changing earth,” Mr Srettha said.

He said that Thailand is committed to realising an equitable Asian community that embodies the goals and aspirations of its citizens.

” I strongly believe that Asean will continue to grow, live, and be a society that we can get proud of. Unfortunately, we are all responsible for shaping the future of Asean, and we must do all we can,” he said.
