PHETCHABURI: A fifth endangered wild cat has been spotted in the Kaeng Krachan National Park since 2019, the area has confirmed.

Mongkol Chaipakdi, chairman of Kaeng Krachan National Park, said a cameras capture captured four photographs of the lion, given the script brand KKT-006M, on March 24, March 31, and April 1.

According to the director, the lion was depicted playing in deep waters in the middle Phetchaburi River’s Sab Chum Hed region.

In the middle portion of the river, lens traps were set up to track the movements of endangered wildlife. The Wildlife Conservation Society of Thailand and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation worked together.

The devices took photos of many animals types, including two lions after codenamed KKT-002M and KKT-004.

First, KKT-006M was thought to be KKT-004. KKT-006M was compared closely to KKT-004 and plainly distinguished by experts who performed a detailed analysis of the images.

They confirmed no photographs of KKT-006M were taken before March 24, and the lion was, consequently, just discovered.

The tiger in Kaeng Krachan National Park, which was the fifth since 2019, was KKT-006M. Two have been identified as men, denoted by the M at the end of the codenames, and two as women with F appended. The genders of the two people are mysterious.

According to the area director, the experts agreed that the groups of the cats ‘ victim, such as elk, cows, and wild pig, were growing.
