The Third Army chief claims that the number of Myanmar immigrants in the Mae Sot city of Tak decreased from 3,000 on Sunday to 3,000 on Monday as negotiations arose.

On Monday morning, Lieutenant General Prasan Saengsirirak informed Thai PBS that the two parties in conflict were currently negotiating and that Myanmar’s state troops had hardly arrived from Kawkareik.

Many of the persons who eluded the battle by crossing the border from Myawaddy were now resettling in Mae Sot.

Official bridges along the Moei River, which marks Mae Sot’s border, were available to both pedestrian and professional traffic as well, according to Lt. Gen. Prasan, who also maintained the initial Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge.

The local army commander said that the 3rd Army was carefully monitoring the situation along the borders and that it had lately protested after a mysterious shot from Myanmar struck a home in Mae Sot.
