Ranger shot dead in Yala

A safety charity was shot and killed in Yala while reading the Quran at his father’s tombstone.

Than To authorities were informed yesterday about the killing in which Ruslee Daleng, a 43-year-old warrior charity, was shot in the head at a Muslim grave in tambon Than To of Yala’s Than To area.

Ruslee was on leave visiting his tired father, who died on Sunday. He attended his father’s death. After attending a religious service at the cemetery where his dad is buried, Ruslee was shot later that morning.

Officers found a 9-milimetre cylinder. They are looking for the criminal and investigating whether the murder was connected to the strong South’s ongoing conflict or if it was just a matter of personal interest.

Local authorities in the southern region, including the Internal Security Operation Command ( Isoc ) Region 4 and the Provincial Police Region 9, have also made arrests for 10 drug dealers from four different drug networks and seized six firearms worth almost four million baht in total.

The police stressed the need for tight preventive measures in the area, particularly during the region’s notorious Hari Raya Aidilfitri spiritual holiday, when contraband is rampant.
