Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu described Mr Lee as a “strong sponsor and champion ” for her ministry’s policies ranging from the country ’s “30 by 30” vision, net-zero goal by 2050, the roll-out of a carbon tax and the Singapore Green Plan.
She cited the benefits of Mr. Lee’s reliability and the kindness he had forwarded to other countries when she began to negotiate about the global climate.
“ Under his leadership, Singapore is known to the world as a natural, separate thinking, trust-worthy partner who may deliver on its promises. This popularity is valuable and has helped me tremendously in advancing Singapore’s interest in international platforms, ” she wrote.
Ms. Fu added that during her political career, she had referred to Mr. Lee as a “terrific coach and leader, ” and that a well-deserved retirement is now in order for the former leader.
With the solid base that PM Lee has laid for us, I look forward to working with DPM Lawrence Wong to realize his perception for Singapore, Ms. Fu said.
National Development Minister Desmond Lee wrote in a Facebook post about how Mr. Lee’s 2013 speech at the National Day Rally, which highlighted the need for a” corporate change” in the social small, had left a lasting impression on him.
It was a rallying phone for our country and culture to unite, he said, adding that the transition had been ongoing thanks to initiatives like the ComCare Fund, Workfare, and the Progressive Wage Model.
Mr. Lee remarked that it has been a privilege to have had the opportunity to “experience first-hand ” what the Prime Minister meant by the new direction under the Prime Minister’s leadership for the past 11 years.
The new classification of people cover into the Standard, Plus, or Prime types is one of these changes.
He urged us to never cease re-imagining and creating a Singapore that future generations can look forward to and said,” He firmly believed in passing on to our children a better Singapore than we inherited.”
We are building on solid foundations and will carry on PM Lee’s tradition of creating an inclusive culture and endearing home for current and upcoming decades of Singaporeans as we prepare to hand the baton over to DPM Lawrence Wong. ”
Transport Minister and Second Minister for Finance Chee Hong Tat thanked Mr Lee for his command in enhancing Singapore’s air, sea and land transportation systems, as well as gateway position, during his league.
It has been a great honor and privilege to work for Mr. Lee since he first entered elections in 2015, he continued.
“ I have benefited greatly from his advice and tips, and even inspired by his constant authority in times of crisis, the strength of his views, the quality of his views, and his perception of the way forward for Singapore, ” he wrote.
Mr. Chee addressed Mr. Wong and said that he had known the incoming prime minister since they had been young soldiers in the public company and that he valued and admired him.
As a member of the 4G group, he pledges to provide DPM Wong my full support and make every effort possible to help the group.
