What we know about Singapore’s fourth Prime Minister Lawrence Wong

Prior to entering elections, Mr Wong was a civil servant for 14 years.

He began his career with the Ministry of Trade and Industry in 1997 before moving on to other positions in the banking and heath departments.

In 2005, Mr. Wong became the Prime Minister’s main personal secretary.

He became the Energy Market Authority’s assistant chief executive in 2008, and he was promoted to the position in 2009.

He resigned from the article two years later as the youngest of five individuals tipped to shape the PAP’s 4G command.

One year before Mr. Wong’s 15-year tenure, The Straits Times reported recently that he had left the public sector to pursue politics. After 15 years of service, administrative services officials were ready for income.

He had said,” It was a loss, but it was n’t something that was taken into my consideration at the time.”

Mr. Wong was born in what he described as an “ordinary home” in the Marine Parade HDB house.

His late father was a child born in China’s Hainan Island, and he later moved to Malaysia as a teenager before relocating to Singapore to operate in a sales capacity.

His family was a professor. Mr. Wong has praised his family in numerous interviews and public statements for managing to teach while caring for him and his nephew and has described her as a discipliner both in class and at home.

Mr. Wong attended his mother’s school, Haig Boys ‘ Major, and he graduated. In his youth, he attended Tanjong Katong Secondary School, which he chose because it was near his home, and after in, Victoria Junior College.

He obtained his bachelor’s and master’s levels in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Additionally, he graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School with a master’s degree in public management.
