Srettha Thavisin, the prime minister, stated that he would welcome former premier Yingluck Shinawatra and others who had been imprisoned for social reasons as long as they firmly adhered to Thai law.
The prime minister, who is on vacation in Hua Hun resort town while taking a break from Songkran, said on Sunday,” I support all of them to enter the legal process and [would ] welcome them to Thailand.”
” All persons convicted for politicians want to return to their homeland,” he added.
The prime minister responded to a speech made by ex-prime secretary Thaksin Shinawatra, who said he hoped to see his younger sister visit Thailand this year.
Yingluck spent the vacation in London, where her brother reports, while Tacsin is in Chiang Mai’s north state to participate in Thai New Year celebrations.
” This is a good sign,” Mr Srettha commented on Thaksin’s note. ” The state will shift forward” after all political prisoners return from their exile abroad, he said.
Despite her adherents saying they were looking forward to her return, Yingluck has not made any public remarks since her friend’s comment. One writer urged “return fairness to Yingluck Shinawatra so she can come back to Thailand.”
But past Nakhon Si Thammarat MP Thepthai Senpong, a Thaksin opposition, said the former prime minister’s latest walk has underscored his status as the true center of energy in the Pheu Thai Party and government. He claimed that all officials were working with him as a result of rumors about a cabinet reshuffle.
The vocal southern politician said,” Ms. Yingluck’s profit depends solely on Mr. Thaksin.” ” The state is merely a facilitator and follows his instructions. “
