SINGAPORE: A serial offender was jailed for 20 a few months on Thursday (Jul 28) for molesting a 12-year-old schoolgirl near a coach stop in Bendemeer.
Neo Beng Yeow, 56, seemed to be sentenced to an extra 10 days’ prison as he reoffended during a remission purchase for his earlier sentence.
He or she pleaded guilty to one charge of outraging the girl’s modesty, with a second similar charge considered designed for sentencing.

The court heard that will on Jul twenty three, 2021, Neo approached the victim as she was strolling towards a bus stop to meet the girl friends after college.

The target was shocked and hurried towards the girl friends. Neo also walked towards all of them and while he has been talking to them, among the victim’s friends had taken a photo of him.
Neo after that ran to the tour bus stop and remaining on a bus. The victim and 2 of her friends started crying, plus some passers-by stopped to help them. One of them produced a police document.
The victim’s school vice-principal contacted the group at the tour bus stop a while later and they told her exactly what had happened. The vice-principal then introduced them to the school to await for the police.
Neo has two previous convictions pertaining to outrage of modesty, and was sentenced to 15 months in jail each time, Deputy Public Prosecutor Theong Li Han told the courtroom.
In 2017, he kissed a nine-year-old girl around the lips and touched her head.
In 2019, he hugged plus kissed the forehead of a six-year-old woman.
Ms Theong, who sought the sentence imposed, contended that Neo predominantly targeted girls in primary school plus would be aware of their own ages as they were wearing their school uniforms.
The lady added that while Neo did not make skin-to-skin contact with the 12-year-old victim, he had intruded upon her private part.
Protection counsels Tan Kah Tian and Shane Goh asked for a shorter sentence associated with 16 months’ jail, arguing that Neo’s touch was short lived and the degree of lovemaking exploitation was relatively low.
They will added that an Company of Mental Wellness report indicated Neo would benefit from psychiatric treatment.
Someone said Neo was willing to undergo such treatment, and that he was remorseful and devoted to never offend again.

Neo cannot be caned as he is over 50, and the prosecution did not seek extra jail time in lieu of caning.
