When Sukai arrived at Prakhon Chai about half past evening, he opened the car door and rushed toward the police station. As he was seen running along the road, closed-circuit television (CCTV ) cameras in the area captured the incident.

According to the Sukai’s speech, he and the others were taken to separate spots upon arriving in Laos. Eventually, he, a Chinese companion, and two Thai people were led to cross the Thai border into Thailand. They were picked up by a car, but the pilot was unsure of where they would go. When he saw a sign with the term” Police” and the word” Police,” he made the decision to jump out of the car and run to the police station to get assistance. His companion dared not to escape.

The Chinese companion could now be contacted, according to a police source who was contacted by the companion after asking for assistance from the authorities at Wang Chao place in Tak province. The Thai embassy in China had contacted Sukai’s family to arrange for him to come back.

In this case, according to authorities, there are no doubts as to whether Sukai and the others were illegally smuggled into Thailand or forced into illegal employment, such as working for a mobile scam gang.
