China says US comments on Taiwan and AUKUS are dangerous

The comments made by US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell on Wednesday ( Apr 10 ) in Beijing were deemed dangerous by China’s Taiwan Affairs Office after he suggested the US-Australian-UKUS submarine project could help deter any Chinese incursions against Taiwan.

” His notes are quite dangerous”, said director Zhu Fenglian when responding to a keyword at a regular press conference.

The United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia’s” multilateral surveillance relationship” was established in part to provoke military hostility in the area through military cooperation in” twin loops.”

Campbell, who established a special relationship between Taiwan and AUKUS, claimed that new underwater features would promote peace and stability, particularly in the region’s strait that distinguishes China and Taiwan.

Any use of important military cooperation to interfere with China’s domestic affairs would be in violation of the one-China principle and would threaten international peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. We strongly oppose”, Zhu said.

In an effort to counteract China’s growing influence in the Indo-Pacific area, the US, Britain, and Australia established AUKUS in 2021.

China has warned that a regional arms race might result from the AUKUS pact and that it is risky.

Both Taiwan and China both claim the majority of the South China Sea as their own nation.

In recent years, China has significantly expanded its arsenal of ships and missiles, completed broad land reclamation on its South China Sea islands, constructed significant air defenses, and created significant security concerns in Washington and the surrounding area. &nbsp,
