On Saturday, police descended on a gaming den at a former sport facility in Bangkok’s Don Muang district, which had been searched and closed down at least ten times.
Superintendent of Don Muang police depot, Pol Col Sukrit Mangklasawas, led a group of 30 officers to the betting cave, inside an ancient sport facility on Soi Song Prapha 1, on Saturday evening. The group attempted to enter the facility from the walls with a permit from the Don Muang Kwaeng Court, but they were boarded away and the stadium’s perimeter was encircled with barbed wire.
Some officers had to walk a fence and cut through some locks to let backup officers enter the stadium as a result.
The officers discovered three distinct bedrooms each with soundproofing designs. They seized a number of pieces of gaming equipment and four gamblers who were present, along with six others.
The cave has been subject to numerous raids in just the past few years, with the most current one being on December 29 of last year, when 65 people were detained. Officials ordered the cave to be closed down by a” Amnuay”-related person. He was given a two-year, eight-month prison term in 2022 for a second offence, but his situation is still pending on bail.
The operator used the downtime to renovate the building before closing it down only to resume soon after. Officers searched the location on March 27th, and on March 27th, they likewise discovered it. Researchers seized some playing products, but did not find any bettors.
At least ten times have officials searched the gaming room. But, it managed to resume after each closing and maintain its operation.
