After a new assessment revealed that many of the elevators and stairs on the Red Line commuter rail system were no longer operational, the State Railway of Thailand is presently repairing them.
The mind of the SRT president’s business, Ekarat Sriarayanphong, said a new examination found that of the 228 stairs installed across the Red Line, 47 were no functioning.
Out of the 133 ramps installed across the range, 22 were found to be out of attempt, he said.
The maintenance, he said, have been divided up into three distinct deals.
The restoration of Chatuchak and Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal escalators and elevators is included in the first agreement.
The maintenance are expected to finish in June, he said.
The second contract concerns the restoration of stairs and cranes at eight facilities, especially Wat Samian Nari, Bang Khen, Thung Song Hong, Lak Si, National Housing Authority, Don Mueang, Lak Hok and Rangsit.
The job is scheduled to be completed within the next 90 days, he said.
According to Mr. Ekarat, the next contract covers the maintenance of all Red Line elevators and escalators.
This deal, Mr Ekarat said, may become signed sometime this month, noting that having a second company handle all the maintenance will help maintain little disruptions.
SRT’s electronic passenger rail service, the Red Line, connects Pathum Thani’s Taling Chan Station in Bangkok’s Taling Chan area with Rangsit Station. The series spans a total range of 41.3 km.
