1,600 officials to ensure order at popular Songkran locations

At least 1,600 Bangkok leaders and participants will be on hand to guard the area’s common tourist hotspots, such as Khao San and Silom roads, during Songkran in Phra Nakhon area.

Khao San Road, Sanam Luang, and Phra Athit Road are the three major tourist destinations that district director Kosol Singhanat expects to see during the trip.

The government will host the” Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2024″ in Sanam Luang, and Wisut Kasat’s Thephi Songkran beauty pageant will take place at Santi Chai Prakan Park on Phra Athit Road, he said.

He said the city company will install at least 1, 600 officers and participants, including paramedics and nurses, to keep an eye on tourists at big Songkran venues.

On April 11, the company will set up surveillance cameras with synthetic intelligence functions and emergency locations along Khao San Road, according to him, before the festivities begin the following morning.

Some routes will largely be closed during the event, but flight cars and cars will be supplied, he said.

As part of this week’s Songkran celebration, Sanga Ruangwattanakul, chairman of the Khao San Business Association, announced that five floating Buddha statues, complete with barrels filled with holy water from five well-known churches, may be present.

According to him, Khao San Road may be closed to traffic starting April 13 through April 15 so that partygoers you enjoy it until 9 p.m.

On April 13 and 14, Bang Rak city director Tharaporn Amnuaysan announced that the path would remain closed from Sala Daeng to the Silom-Natrathiwat crossing from noon to midnight.
