Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin stated on Sunday that the government will help the Marine Department’s plan to construct a boat switch on Koh Samui to encourage boat hospitality.

An established trip to Koh Samui and Nakhon Si Thammarat, which began on Saturday and ends immediately, is headed by Mr. Srettha and officials from the Transport Ministry and the Hospitality and Sports Ministry.

By the end of 2024, Mr. Srettha said he wanted to have the site’s plan approved at a government meet. He declared that the boat connector will be a surprise to Surat Thani’s population.

Because there are numerous islands in the area, he claimed, making the switch beneficial for the southeastern portion of the Gulf of Thailand and allow visitors to enjoy cruise ship travel without any issues.

Koh Samui has a lot of potential, he said, adding that the state also wants to see a aircraft base and a duty-free area at the pier switch in order to improve the province’s business.

He claimed that the aircraft base and cruise terminal will make the beach one of the most important travel destinations for foreigners.

Government delegations visited a possible location for the Marina cruise terminal initiative in Talon Taling Ngam, according to deputy state representative Rudklao Suwankiri.

Surat Thani MPs from the United Thai Nation Party welcomed them.

Additionally, Kritphet Chaichuai, the captain of the Marine Department, gave the delegation a progress report on the job.

According to Mr. Kritphet, the construction of the Samui cruise terminal will be a major part of a well-known traveling way between Hong Kong and Singapore, and the government anticipates that cruise ships will stop along the way.

In Chon Buri, in the middle part of the Gulf of Thailand, the government also intends to set up a new boat terminal.

For the Andaman area, boat connectors may be built in Phuket and Krabi, Mr Kritphet said.

According to him, the Marine Department has hired professionals to carry out a preliminary viability study on the Samui boat terminal’s design and location.

The facility did have a total area of 47 ray, which will include 15 ray of land for parking and a 32 ray offshore place for a three-storey traveler building and a yacht marina, he said.

He said the switch will provide 180, 000 visitors and 118 boat ships per month. Forecast money over the 30- time time is about 8.5 billion ringgit.

The project is currently being considered for approval by the Public-Private Partnership Policy Committee, and he anticipates it will be before government is approved this month, he said.

Design is expected to begin in 2029 and be finished by the year’s end, he said. &nbsp,
