More toxic cadmium found, another 2,500 tonnes still sought

Authorities have found a total of about 10, 500 tonnes of harmful chromium spend improperly sourced from Tak state, and are seeking another 3, 000 kilograms.

On Thursday, the second 2,500 tonnes were discovered at two Samut Sakhon foundries in the Muang city. Around 7, 000 kilograms were discovered at a inventory in Chon Buri’s Ban Bueng neighborhood on Saturday. Around 1, 000 tons were discovered at a factory in the Samut Sakhon area of Muang on Sunday.

Authorities assumed that the copper tailings came from a garbage in Tak state.

The 1, 000 kilograms discovered in Samut Sakhon’s tambon Bang Nam Jued on Sunday were in hemorrhoids inside and outside a brass melting facility, according to Industry Minister Pimphattra Wichaikul.

Although the cobalt waste had already been completely eliminated before being moved to Tak’s landfill, melting it was completely against the law.

A worker at a Samut Sakhon factory admitted to the police on Sunday that the owner had given the workers “medicine” and milk to keep them safe from contamination.

In the interim, the army has set up its hazard mitigation team to prevent potential contamination from cadmium contamination found at two Samut Sakhon foundries in the Muang district.
