SINGAPORE: Singapore&nbsp, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Saturday ( Apr 6 ) congratulated&nbsp, newly appointed Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Dr Mohammad Mustafa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) said.

Dr Mustafa&nbsp, was appointed perfect minister, and minister of foreign affairs and emigrants of the Palestinian Authority on Mar 14, &nbsp, replacing father Mohammed Shtayyeh, who&nbsp, stepped down&nbsp, in February.

Mr. Lee acknowledged that it was a “very hard time” in his welcome letter, which showed no signs of abating with the Israel-Hamas war now in its fifth month. &nbsp,

Singapore is “deeply concerned” about the terrible humanitarian position in Gaza. We support a quick and unhinged charitable peace to facilitate the delivery of help, he said.

A Republic of Singapore Air Force plane has been flown for airdrop operations thanks to Singapore, which has provided three tranches of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

In October 2022, Mr Lee stressed Singapore’s commitment to support Palestinian capacity- building efforts through the&nbsp, Enhanced Technical Assistance Package ( ETAP ).

He noted in his notice to Dr.&nbsp. Mustafa that more than 700 Israeli officials have so far attended ETAP training and study trips.

In Ramallah, in the West Bank, a representative office was established in 2022 to help Singapore’s activities with the Israeli Authority.

Mr Lee reiterated Singapore’s help for a negotiated two- state solution, calling it” the single practical path towards a comprehensive, simply and sturdy peace” between Israelis and Palestinians.

He further stated that he was looking forward to meeting with Dr. Dr. Mustafa and that he had invited his Arab Authority equivalent to visit Singapore at a “mutually easy time.”

” Until then, I wish you success in your new position”.
