In a” transition,” former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra praised Srettha Thavisin as a capable leader while highlighting his own daughter’s credentials as leader of the ruling Pheu Thai Party.

” ( Srettha ) is well- placed during the transition in politics where there are many parties. … He will do well because of his knowledge”, Thaksin said in a prior- recorded message shown at the group’s quarterly conference on Friday.

In August, Thaksin made a spectacular comeback from captivity, but he was facing an eight-year prison sentence that was later reduced to one time on a royal pardon for conflict of interest and abuse of power. He was released from medical on probation after six months, not spending a one night behind bars.

His profit and the fact that he was detained fairly quickly fueled rumors that Thaksin had forged a deal with conservatives and the war that had ousted two of his-linked parties in dictatorships in 2006 and 2014? Thaksin and his supporters have denied making a bargain in this way.

Many people in the country believe Thaksin will have important political influence, which raises questions about the future and part of the political novice Srettha.

Asked about Thaksin’s control, Mr Srettha has insisted he is in charge of the state.

Thaksin’s child Paetongtarn, 37, and Mr Srettha were both nominees for top in the general election campaign last month.

Thaksin praised Ms. Paetongtarn’s powers and said she would help Pheu Thai win the next election in 2027.

” Ung Ing may lead the team and transform the game”, Thaksin said, referring to her by her name.

She is cheerful and social like me, and if I may, and she has my mother’s and her mother’s DNA, she will do better than I do.
