Two Singaporeans reported missing after Taiwan quake

SINGAPORE: Two Singaporeans are missing in Taiwan after Wednesday’s ( Apr 3 ) massive earthquake. &nbsp,

The Singapore Trade Office in Taipei is in close contact with local authorities on the subject, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) on Friday. &nbsp,

The next-of-kin have been in touch with MFA and the Singapore Trade Office in Taipei, and they are providing consular support. We continue to monitor the condition closely”, MFA said.

Eight Singaporeans were reportedly one of the 71 immigrants who were saved after being trapped in Hualien on Thursday, according to a report from the newspaper.

Two of them received minor injury, according to MFA on Friday, adding that the government has contacted all e-registered Singaporeans in the areas affected by the earthquake.

As rescue and relief work continue, our Trade Office in Taipei is in close contact with the Chinese authorities, according to MFA.

The Japanese government has provided us with our thanks for their prompt assistance and support.
