Between April 11 and 17, the AoT expects the number of guests at the six airports may attain 2.61 million, up 28.50 % compared to the same period last year, he said. From April 11 through April 17, Dong Mueang Airport may offer free parking in Warehouse Building 2 and a five-story parking lot.

The minister also gave the AoT instructions to work closely with ground support and immigration police to ensure easy airport operations.

The AoT has a cooperation and coordination center, as well as a travel safety center, according to Kirati Kijmanawat, the AoT’s director, to keep an eye on airport services around the clock.

He also suggested that passengers use common-use self-service ( CUSS) kiosks and common-use bag drops ( CUBD ) so they can check in and drop off their luggage without using ground staff for quicker service.

The State Railway of Thailand has been given instructions to ensure that it is prepared to serve its passengers during the Songkran event, according to Deputy Transport Minister Surapong Piyachote.

Before, the SRT extended the time for booking communicate coach tickets from 30 days to 90 days. According to Mr. Surapong, the majority of people booked their reservations for the Songkran period from April 10 through April 11 and returning to Bangkok on April 16 through April 17 for travel.
