A Hong Kong person has been detained and charged with operating a tour business and serving as a tour guide in this state of the destination area.

Wong Tsz Kin, 31, was arrested at a car park near Phuket Big Buddha, formally known as Phra Phutta Ming Mongkol Eknakakiri, on Nakkerd Hill in tambon Karon of Muang area around 5pm on Tuesday, said tourist officers.

Mr. Wong was accused of operating a tour company without a permit, operating a foreign business without a work permit, and other charges.

The suspect allegedly sold Chinese visitors online tour plans. He served as a tour guide and took them to beach tourist attractions when they arrived.

He was turned over to the Karon train police for legal action.
