PMAs should be reserved for those with certified medical needs or walking difficulties: Sellers, therapists

REACTION TO Rules

MOBOT, one vendor of mobility items, said it supports for regulations to keep paths peaceful. The company has been making an effort to find the best tools for its customers.

” As a concerned shop, we assess the client before we sell the products. We recommend something that is suited to their needs”, said the company’s product director Bobby Lai. ” PMAs are for people with problems walking. ( Otherwise ), we recommend other products such as bicycles, electric bicycles, or electric scooters”.

Mr. Lai said he thinks like police would benefit walkers and businesses, but it would require more paperwork from real users.

There will be an extra step required for those authentic users to go and obtain that additional certificate, he said.

However, more legislation allows for a longer period of time for the business. If there is no legislation, there will be conflict on the roads. Ultimately, it’s a good thing. We anticipate more enforcement of unlawful PMAs.
