Paetongtarn talks up Cambodia ties

The head of Thailand’s decision Pheu Thai Party, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, also known as Ung Ing, is now paying an official visit to Cambodia, emphasising the adjacent relationships and cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Phnom Penh Post, she met with Cambodia’s speaking president Cheam Yeap on Monday.

Ms Paetongtarn was invited by former Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen, president of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party ( CPP ), when he paid a call on her father, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, in Bangkok, on Feb 21.

Cheam Yeap stated at the meeting that the visit may improve relationships between their particular governments while also boosting the cohesion between the two ruling events.

According to a speech from the Thai National Assembly, Ms. Paetongtarn updated Cheam Yeap on the state of the situation in Thailand and said she believed the two neighbors would continue to have quiet connections and contribute to economic growth.

Paetongtarn mentioned the successful partnerships between the Pheu Thai Party and the CPP, noting that they must continue to grow in the future.

During the conference, Cheam Yeap suggested that both places improve the efficiency of the tourism hall to ease the flow of visitors between them, specifically through the” Two Kingdoms, One Place” program. According to the speech, Ms Paetongtarn shared her support for Cheam Yeap’s advice.

On Monday, Ms. Paetongtarn and Pheu Thai leaders met with Hun Sen and Vietnamese Prime Minister Hun Manet.

She claimed that the visit to Cambodia was meant to promote international cooperation and foster closer relations and intercultural exchange between the two nations.

She even voiced help for the Asean Drive Tourism initiative, which promotes five countries in the region– Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia– as a single location.

The plan was approved in January at the 27th Asean Tourism Forum in Vientiane.

Hun Manet expressed his satisfaction at welcoming the Pheu Thai head to Cambodia because the connection between the CPP and Pheu Thai has existed for a long time.

Senator Kamnoon Sidhisamarn disregarded concerns that Ms. Paetongtarn may engage in covert negotiations with Cambodia over the Overlapping Claims Area in the Gulf of Thailand on Monday&nbsp. He stated that the discussions will resume once a Joint Technical Committee (JTC ) is established.
