SINGAPORE: A 35- yr- older man may be charged in courtroom on Saturday ( Mar 16 ) over his participation in a hit- and- run accident that killed a pedestrian.
The police said in a media release on Friday that they had been called to the scene of an incident involving a vehicle and a commuter at the intersection of Jurong West Avenue 2 and Bulim Avenue at around 9.25 am on August 25, 2023.
The wagon driver fled to Malaysia right away after the incident, according to the Singapore Officers Force ( SPF). ” He did not report to the police within 24 hours”.
The motorist, a 57- year- aged man, was taken to hospital informed after the accident, but, he immediately died.
Investigations both found the lorry’s registration number and the personality of the driver on the same day.
According to SPF, the pilot was detained in Malaysia on March 14, 2024, in accordance with a warrant of arrest issued by the State Courts of Singapore.
The pilot was finally turned over to the Singapore Police Force on March 15, 2024.
The person may face a charge in prosecutor for dangerously driving and causing death.
If convicted, he could be jailed for between two and eight times, and disqualified from driving all groups of cars.
Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Daniel Tan, the captain of the Transportation Police, thanked RMP for their help.
