A wheelchair-bound advocate complained that an airline denied sailing because he had no one to accompany him on the trip, prompting the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to investigate.
Kritsana Lalai, a member of the Network for Transport Freedom for All, wrote to Social Development and Human Security Minister Varawut Silpa-archa about the problem.
The chancellor has instructed the agency to investigate the problem, which will be reviewed by its inner panel in order to end unfair treatment of disabled people.
Thai Vietjet claimed on February 29 that it had completely monitored the event.
A rider who has flexibility issues who needs assistance must at least 48 hours in advance notify the airline, according to the airline.
They must also be accompanied by a physically challenged individual who submits to serve as their chauffeur. In case of an emergency, the rider must have someone else with them. But, in Mr Kritsana’s event, none of the four individuals booked to go with him agreed to be his bodyguard, according to the aircraft.
