Singaporean man found dead days after car plunges into Penang ravine

A Singaporean man’s body was discovered on Tuesday ( Mar 12 ) in Georgios Town, Penang. It is thought to have been involved in a road accident in Penang before crashing 45 meters into a ravine.

The gentleman, Chew Wei Fung, was reported missing on March 9 after being identified by the New Straits Times as&nbsp.

Assistant fire director Muzzamer Mohd Salleh of the Penang Fire and Rescue Department said they received an incident call at 1pm.

One of the main streets on the island, Jalan Paya Terubong, was where fire groups from Jalan Perak and Paya Terubong Fire and Rescue Stations were dispatched to the field.

He said,” It is believed that the victim was in an accident before the car plunged into the ravine.” His body was discovered outside the car, so he may have been thrown out or he may have managed to escape by himself.

He added that the person was discovered with accidents all over his body and that the brain was turned over to the police for treatment.

A family member claimed the 29-year-old was driving a Proton Persona owned by his partner prior to reporting him missing.

He added that the sufferer contacted him next time around 1 a.m. when he reported that he was on his means home to Alor Vista near Relau.

This is the next fatal path incident involving a Singaporean that has been reported in Malaysia recently.
