SINGAPORE: The Housing and Development Board (HDB) will offer 962 Build-to-Order (BTO) flats at a new project in Punggol in its February 2024 sales exercise.
The project, Matilda Riverside, will have a waiting time of three years and one month – the shortest in this latest exercise.
It will be the first BTO project to be launched in Punggol in more than four years. The last – Punggol Point Crown and Punggol Point Cove – were launched in September 2019.
Matilda Riverside will offer a wide selection of flat types, from two-room Flexi flats to five-room flats.
Most of the flats being offered in the upcoming launch will have waiting times of less than three-and-a-half years. Other projects included in the launch are in areas like Bedok, Queenstown, Choa Chu Kang, Hougang and Woodlands.
The Matilda Riverside project will be located next to Punggol Reservoir in the Matilda District, one of the seven waterfront housing districts in Punggol.
“The urban design of this district, including the BTO projects, draws inspiration from the former Matilda House built in 1902, which had a distinctive tropical style accentuated by architectural features such as open verandahs and colonnaded walkways,” HDB said.
“Hence, the vision for Matilda District – ‘Verandah by the Waterfront’.”
The district will capitalise on its waterfront location and feature boulevards lined with shrubbery and trees with large canopies, or “green avenues”, which connect to the waterfront.
GREEN AREAS, CONNECTIVITY
Matilda Riverside units were designed to provide residents with “panoramic views of the waterfront and the courtyard spaces in between the blocks”, HDB said.
The project comprises seven residential blocks ranging from 10 to 19 storeys in height.
