BANDUNG: On Friday, January 5, two trains collided on Java, the capital of Indonesia, killing three people and injuring at least 28 others, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at 6.03 am regional time near rice fields in the West Java province province of Cicalengka, and it caused several train carriages to capsize.
One of the patients has been identified as the Turangga train’s manager. According to Ayen Hanepi, a spokeswoman for PT KAI, the remaining individuals have not been identified.
He claimed that a regional train and the Turangga station, an intra-city line that connects Surabaya in East Java to the city of Bandung, were involved in the incident.
According to him, the Turangga train carried 287 people while 191 were on the local passenger line.
