New Year traffic accidents claim 256 lives

A full of 2, 083 customers accidents occurred globally between December 29 and January 3, resulting in 256 casualties and 2, 106 accidents.

The numbers on the losses sustained during the six-day New Year’s holidays were released on Thursday by Suthep Kaengsanthia, permanent minister for education. Bangkok reported the highest suicide burden at 17, while Kanchanaburi state recorded the most incidents at 77 and the greatest number of injuries.

11 out of the 77 regions reported no traffic mortality during this time.

There were 239 customers fatalities on Wednesday only, resulting in 250 injuries and 35 fatalities. Speeding, which accounts for 37.66 % of all traffic accidents, was followed by drivers cutting in front of other drivers ( 17.76 % ) and drunk driving ( 4.4 % ), according to Mr. Suthep.
