According to official statistics, 212 people were killed and 1,860 people were injured in New Year’s trip highway accidents, both numbers significantly lower than last year.

The dying and harm burden came from 1, 839 traffic accidents between December 29 and January 2, inclusive, according to Chakree Bamrungwong, an assistant to the Department of Land Transport.
