According to the Immigration Bureau ( IB ), two Japanese men and an Australian national were detained in separate incidents as part of a crackdown on foreign criminals or those suspected of having connections to organized crime syndicates.
IB director Pol Lt Gen Itthipol Itthisarnronnachai announced the detention.
In the first instance, Masao, 36, and Susuki, 24 ( last names withheld ) were apprehended while police were looking into a group of Japanese nationals who were thought to be involved in the illegal drug trade.
The four to five-member party attracted police attention because they frequently changed apartments and drove cars with other people’s names on them.
Eventually, immigration authorities discovered that Mr. Masao, one of the team members, had an excellent arrest warrant for alleged robbery from the Phra Khanong Criminal Court. A housemaid was forced to file a complaint with the local authorities after the suspect had seized her cellular phone. According to reports, the smartphone captured the team’s dubious activities.
Mr. Masao acknowledged that he was the guy on the warrant during the arrest. Officers detained Mr. Susuki, who was discovered to have overstayed his immigration, as they searched the area.
According to data from Asian authorities, Mr. Masao was reportedly involved in 18 criminal cases involving a Yakuza gang, whereas Ms. Susuki is alleged to have participated in three such cases in Japan.
In the other instance, a 31-year-old American man who was thought to be connected to the Hells Angels global outlaw motorcycle club was detained for using another woman’s passport.
After the IB discovered that he had entered Thailand on a chartered private jet using an European card, the arrest was made. American authorities worked with them to identify the person as Elices through an evaluation of his fingerprints. In the Thong Lor neighborhood of Bangkok, the believe was detained at a property.
