Police arrest Japan taxi driver after running over pigeon

TOKYO: According to police, a taxi driver from Tokyo was detained on Tuesday ( Dec. 5 ) for purposefully killing one pigeon after intentionally colliding with the flock. The driver was reportedly upset that the birds were on the road.

Atsushi Ozawa, 50, was detained on Sunday for breaking wildlife protection laws after “using his car to eliminate a typical bird, which is no game animal” in the Chinese funds last month, according to an AFP spokesman for Tokyo police.

According to local media, Ozawa sped away from a traffic light when it turned natural, plowing his car into the flock of birds at 60 kilometers per hour.
