Philippines monitoring ‘illegal’ presence of more than 135 Chinese boats in South China Sea

MANILA: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced on Sunday, December 3, that it is keeping an eye on the “illegal reputation” of more than 135 Foreign maritime militia vessels at a reef in the South China Sea.

In response, it claimed that its chief had ordered patrols to be conducted near Whitsun Reef, which is located in the exclusive economic zone ( EEZ ) of the Philippines and is known by Manila as the Julian Felipe Reef.

In the course of defending the territorial integrity, sovereignty, sovereign right, and control of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea, the PCG stated in a statement that it “maintains its unwavering determination to safeguarding maritime security, health and the sea culture.”

The South China Sea’s lakes that drop within its 200 nautical mile EEZ are known as the West Philippine Sea in Manila.

The Chinese Embassy in Manila did not respond right away.

China’s say to 90 % of the South China Sea was declared invalid by an international tribunal in 2016, but Beijing does not accept the decision. In recent years, China has constructed territories in the contested lakes and built airstrips on a few of them.

Pieces of the lake are claimed by Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Brunei. &nbsp,
