Both Wissanu Krea-ngam and Arkhom Termpittayapaisith, previous government officials during the previous Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha administration, have been elected to the Council of State, the president’s legal body.
The meetings went into effect posthumously on October 30 after being published in the Royal Gazette on Wednesday.
136 people known to be legitimate authorities were appointed as members of the Council of State, serving a three-year expression, in accordance with an order from the king that was issued on August 23, 2022.
A member of the council named Nopphanithi Suriya passed away last month, and another council member, Udom Rathamarit, resigned, leaving two open positions.
To choose their replacements, a committee made up of the chairs of various government sub-commissions was established. Wissanu and Arkhom were chosen by the variety panel.
Until the expiration of their forebears ‘ terms, they must continue to serve on the committee.
Mr. Wissanu, 72, is a well-known expert in law. From August 2014 to September 2023, he most recently held the position of deputy prime minister under the administrations of Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha.
A well-known civil servant named Mr. Arkhom, 67, held the positions of finance minister from October 2020 to September 2023 and transport secretary in the Prayut Chan-o-cha authorities from August 19, 2015 to July 10, 2019.
