In connection with the hackers and sale of more than 15 million people’s personal data to unauthorized firms, three people have been detained.
The research was expanded from the earlier apprehension of an expert in Phuket who is accused of selling the personal information of at least two million citizens to illegitimate companies, according to Pol Lt Gen Thana Chuwong, acting assistant national police chief, who stated at a press briefing on Tuesday.
Police were informed by the architect that he purchased the information from a mediator who allegedly had access to 15 million people’s personal information. The wholesaler was thought to be connected to those responsible for the information theft.
Officers located the three detained individuals whose names were withheld as a result of the research. Nattapong, 28, a programmer who created the API Bypass Face Scan, Yodchai, 24, and Pasin, 41, an insurance agent accused of stealing millions of customers’ personal information from online betting sites’ collection.
If the thief was aware of the woman’s bank account information, he or she could have used a software program created to conduct financial transactions without the use of cellular banking software, according to Mr. Nattapong. In this manner, a hacker-controlled computer system would be used to transfer large sums of money to accounts.
For the transfer of more than 50, 000 ringgit at once, another programme was coded to do away with face scanning. The process of fraud is being investigated by the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau. Computer and private data protection laws were allegedly broken by the three men.
